I made $763 profit on my designer thrift store find – it only cost me $3.50

A THRIFTY woman has hit the jackpot and thanked the discount gods for one purchase.

After finding a designer bag for only $3.50 at a reduced-cost shop, the clever buyer resold it for $767.

TikToker Ms. Fili posted a video to show the $1,650 bag she found for $3.50 at the thrift storeTikTok/msfili

However, Ms. Fili’s (@msfili) jackpot item was originally sold for way more.

In her TikTok video, she filmed herself inside the thrift store after she found the bag.

The camera captured an empty aisle before panning to a blue soft-leather crossbody.

Ms. Fili held the $1,650 Bottega Veneta item in disbelief.

Immediately, the thrift master knew she was holding onto a bag of value even though it was priced at $5.49.

And with her shopper’s discount, she spent only $3.50 on it.

Instead of holding on to the archive designer piece, Ms. Fili wanted to resell.

She ended up selling the Bottega bag for $767.

Intrigued viewers questioned the original price of the item in the comments.

“My question is: who would pay $1,650 for that?” a skeptical viewer asked.

Ms. Fili responded: “Janet Jackson had one and one of Kanye West’s favorite brands.”

“It really does look like $3.50, though,” a harsh critic remarked.

Angered discount shoppers were disappointed in Ms. Fili for taking the affordable bag and charging people more.

“It’s almost like it was there so someone with less money could afford it,” a passionate person proclaimed.

Another upset viewer wrote: “And then by doing this, Value Village starts charging way more for stuff, and people who need it can’t access it.”

“I’m all for the hustle, but it’s resellers that are encouraging thrift stores to raise their own prices,” another person said.

She ended up reselling the Bottega Veneta bag for $767, and people were angry at her for itTikTok/msfili
