Charlotte Flair returned on SmackDown to crash the WWE Women’s Championship presentation.

The Queen made her first appearance since WrestleMania as Adam Pearce unveiled the new title belt for Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and laid down a clear challenge for the champion.

The new design itself mirrored the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship given to Roman Reigns last week, with some definite similarities including the gold background and black WWE logo centrepiece.

However, there is a key difference with a white strap for the women’s prize, rather than the traditional black used for the Tribal Chief’s title.

WWE official Pearce quickly revealed the gold to Asuka and took the Raw Women’s Title, but she didn’t have long to celebrate as Charlotte came out to a fantastic reaction from the live crowd.

The 14-time champ hasn’t been seen since her SmackDown Women’s Title loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, and she instantly made it clear she wanted a shot.

Pearce tried to tell her to wait in line, which she refused to do, and Asuka accepted the challenge, leaving him with a conundrum as commentator Michael Cole pointed out that Bianca Belair is also gunning for the title.

Indeed, the EST of WWE came in backstage looking furious, and he insisted he would sort things out, while she responded: ‘You bet.’

‘Just so you know, when I get my lick back, it’ll be justified,’ she added with a glare.
