Ben Fogle admitted he removed his tattoo symbolising his adventures in Mount Everest after he said it reminded him of a ‘PIN number’.

The 49-year-old presenter initially got the ink in 2018 after he reach the legendary summit but took to his Instagram to share his now clear wrist.

Noting inaccuracies in his permanent marking, the star explained that the height of the mountain had changed since he first climbed it and so the numbers were actually wrong.

While detailing the process of erasing the memory, the adventurer outlined that it was an incredibly long feat and took a lot of ‘patience’.

He uploaded a picture of his before and after along with a lengthy caption explaining the thoughts behind his decision.

Ben penned a message to his followers that read: ‘Nothing has to last forever. I decided to get rid of my Everest tattoo. It took time.

‘A looong time. Just like the climb. It took patience.

‘And the realisation that we have the power to change the things we regret, the tattoo, not the climb.

‘The climb was life changing for me. A permanent memory, unlike the tattoo that looked like my PIN number [sic].’

He continued saying: ‘Not even the height of Everest, which has been recalculated from 8848m to 8848.8m, is permanent.

‘Maybe I was never meant to have it? My tattoo of the wrong height has gone but the memories remain on the inside.
