Brooklyn Beckham has a huge passion for cooking and frequently shares videos of his creations online, but his latest recipe has sparked debate about how much oil is too much.

His simple fried chicken video had viewers up in arms about his cooking as the 24-year-old appeared to pour an entire bottle of avocado oil into the pan.

At the start of his Instagram reel, Brooklyn held up an almost full bottle of avocado oil, but when he cut to pouring it into the pan, he emptied said bottle.

The bottle in question appears to be either 750ml or 1 litre of avocado oil from the sponsoring brand which, according to some viewers, was a bit much.

Brooklyn, who was recently spotted at a Manchester United game with his dad, marinated the chicken in quite a copious amount of milk and spices.

He then coated it in a flour mix and fried the two large chicken breast pieces until they were deliciously crispy.

Viewers questioned if the model really needed to use an entire bottle, with one popular commenter protesting: ‘That’s a LOT of oil.’

Another quipped: ‘Do you save the rest of the oil?’

‘There are people dying in the world from starvation – you used enough oil and milk for about 20 people. But you wouldn’t understand that,’ added another, quite harshly.

Many came to Brooklyn’s defence, though, saying that much oil is requried if you are going to deep fry anything.

‘That’s how you FRY chicken,’ replied one fan, while another added witheringly: ‘Quite hard to fry chicken without it.’

Others insisted the food looked ‘delicious’ and ‘yummy’ as the cook mixed mayo and spices for a dip to go with his fried chicken.

‘Love using avocado oil to fry with. Avocado oil fries stuff so evenly and tastes wonderful! Keep doing your thing Brooklyn! Maybe one day you’ll have your own restaurant🔥🥰’ wrote one encouraging fan.

Many were asking for a written version of the recipe so they could follow along, although if you are going to make it at home it might be worth using an air fryer instead of all that oil.

Brooklyn has shared previously that cooking is an ‘escape’ for him and helps ‘takes [his] mind off anything that’s happening.’

In response to fans on Instagram questioning his skills, he wrote: ‘I am not a chef, I am a cook. I just absolutely love cooking and starting from the very bottom and you know, learning, I’m going to be learning every day.’
