Alexandra Burke surprised fans in April when she announced her and Darren Randolph would be expecting a second child just nine months after welcoming their first.

The X Factor star, 34, is yet to disclose the name or gender of her first child – born in July last year – and has been pretty tight-lipped about becoming a mother in general.

But now, the Bad Boys singer has opened up about expecting a second baby with footballer boyfriend Darren, 36.

It seems the pregnancy hasn’t been total bliss so far, as the singer admitted it’s been ‘tough’.

Chatting on The One Show with Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, alongside fellow guest, actor Lesley Sharp, the singer said it’s also been a ‘blessing’.

‘It’s very, very hot, but I’m feeling good,’ the star responded when Alex (Jones) asked how she was.

She also said she ‘wouldn’t change’ it ‘for the world’ (Picture: BBC/The One Show)

‘This is my second pregnancy and if I’m honest with you it’s tough,’ Alexandra continued.

‘But its such a blessing so I wouldn’t change this for the world.’

The Hallelujah singer and her beau are thought to have been dating since 2021, after Alexandra shared a cute photo of them together.

As far as baby snaps go, Alexandra is keeping those private as she wants to ‘protect the baby as much as [she] can’.

On the birth of her eldest, the star posted a cute shot of the tot’s little toes, and wrote in the caption: ‘Welcome to the world our little grape 🥰

‘We already love you more than words can say 🍇🌎🤍.’

While Ulrika Jonsson accused the star of being an ‘attention seeker’ for not revealing the gender of her first baby, Alexandra explained: ‘I wanna protect the baby as much as I can and let the baby make its own decision.’

She continued: ‘I don’t wanna hurt anyone in the process of who I am and the life that I’ve chosen.’

Alexandra was on The One Show promoting her debut film, Pretty Red Dress, in which she plays a singer.

The star seemed absolutely made up with the film and implored people to watch it if they want to be ‘inspired’ to live their ‘most authentic life’.

‘This film holds a dear pace in my heart because of the message,’ she continued.

Hilariously, Alexandra also recalled her audition tape which landed her the role, and how it wasn’t exactly what the director was expecting.

While most actors will stand in front of a plain wall and act to a camera, the script said her character was in a car – and so Alexandra went all out.

‘So I plonked myself in a car,’ explained Alexandra in amusement, before her audition clip was played.

Strictly’s Johannes Radebe is the movement coach in the film, which sees Alexandra dress up and sing the iconic songs of the late Tina Turner.

Pretty Red Dress is out tomorrow in cinemas.

The One Show is on BBC one at 7pm every weeknight.
