BBC Breakfast viewers were dazzled by Naga Munchetty’s ‘bright’ neon green outfit so much so some had to change channels.

The former Strictly star, 48, appeared to match her outfit to the UK’s ongoing heatwave and sunshine, sporting a neon yellow/green shirt and matching trousers on Friday’s edition of the morning news show.

Fans on Twitter were quick to comment on Naga’s get-up, with a few comparing it to crossing guards or highways workers owing to its similarity to a high-vis vest.

Another joked: ‘@BBCBreakfast anyone lost their highlighter? Naga has it.’

However, many others praised Naga’s look, with one commenting: ‘Looking fab in that green outfit.’

‘Naga looking ridiculously fabulous in double acid yellow on #bbcbreakfast this morning,’ another wrote, while a third added: ‘Nice outfit naga.’

One BBC viewer pointed out Naga’s look was borrowed from Viggo’s wardrobe, with the comedian wearing hi-vis jackets for his performance and TV appearances.

‘@BBCBreakfast blimey, is Naga paying homage to Viggo Venn this morning? #myeyes,’ they commented.

It’s not the first time this week that a BBC Breakfast presenter’s outfit has thrown viewers.

On Monday, Carol Kirkwood, who has presented the weather updates on the show since 1997, surprised viewers with a sudden wardrobe change.

Reporting from the RSPB Arne in Dorset, the 61-year-old rocked a white T-shirt with a bunny in sunglasses design.

‘Carol, my daughter loves your t-shirt! Where is it from?’ one person asked via social media.

Earlier this week, Naga, in a less colourful outfit, was forced to spring into action to prevent her co-star Charlie Stayt from making a blunder live on-air.

Charlie was seen immersed in a newspaper while Naga was interviewing a barrister about funding for families with disabled children, prompting her to give him a sly nudge.

Fortunately, Naga is a dab hand at stopping blunders, having recently saved a BBC Breakfast segment from a gatecrasher.

Last Friday, roving reporter Hannah Miller had been situated at Download Festival to speak about news from the UK music event.

But as she made her way around the campsite, a festival-goer emerged and made an inappropriate remark about drugs.

The reveler exclaimed into the camera: ‘I love my prescription speed provided by the NHS.’

While a slight-flustered Hannah apologised to the audience, Naga quickly cut the segment short to prevent any further off-colour comments.

BBC Breakfast airs on weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
