Chris McCausland had Channel 4 viewers in stitches on Monday night with his new show Wonders Of The World I Can’t See.

The brand new four-part series kicked off with the comedian being shown around the Parthenon in Athens, Greece by non-other than Harry Hill providing the audio commentary so he could envision it.

But Harry’s descriptions didn’t exactly paint a clear picture for Chris, who is blind due to retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic disorder that causes loss of vision.

‘We’re right on top of a massive rock,’ Harry attempted to explain. ‘It’s a series of columns. If you imagine a shoe box but instead of the sides of the shoe box you’ve got columns [and] you’ve lost the lid.’

‘Ah okay, so it’s almost like an ancient gazebo?’ Chris responded.

Speaking privately to the camera, Chris continued: ‘It 100% sounds like he’s describing a gazebo. When I referenced that, he shot me down like I misunderstood.

‘He did have me climb a massive hill in like 40-degree heat and going through crowds of tourists to basically have some pillars described to me.’

Viewers flocked to social media to heap praise on Chris’s new show, which has already been hailed the ‘comedy programme of the year’ by one fan.
