Nicki Minaj has divided fans with comments she made about the missing Titanic submarine.

The rapper weighed in with her thoughts on the rescue mission as five people remain missing and time runs out to find them alive.

Known as Titan, the sub has been missing in the depths of the ocean since Sunday (June 18).

The vessel intended to explore the wreckage of the sunken Titanic ship before something clearly went horribly wrong, and it’s said the submarine could now have less than 20 hours of oxygen left.

It’s been the talk of the internet for days, as you can imagine, with the Starships hitmaker, 40, wondering how the experience was allowed to go ahead in the first place.

Speaking on her radio show, the Trinidadian-born musician said: ‘No one should be able to hop on a submarine, talkin’ about they going down to look at the Titanic.

‘Do you know how some people work their whole life and can’t save up $250,000?

‘And you took $250,000 to hop on a submarine to go see a ship that mostly everybody died on.’

The whopping $250k (£195k) is thought to be the amount the passengers paid for the experience.

Currently missing onboard the ship are British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Sulaiman Dawood, and Stockton Rush, the founder of OceanGate.

Nicki also added in her radio show that she is thinking of those at sea.

‘I’m keeping all five passengers in my prayers and wishing all the best to search and rescue teams,’ she said.

‘I just hope everyone stays safe.’

The Princess Diana songstress also sent out a tweet that has since been deleted.

‘Praying they make it back to their families’, she wrote.

‘This is so scary & should not be allowed.’

She added that she ‘just assumed they were marine biologists’ but later found out it was a ‘tourist Titanic thing’.

‘They said: ‘TMZ Tour Bus but make it Under The Sea’, she quipped.

The internet was divided over Nicki’s remarks, with some defending her dark humour and also agreeing with her, while others were left uncomfortable.

‘Truly hoping that the submarine is found and those people are ok and alive but Nicki Minaj having a hot take about it is just… she’s saying what we’re all thinking. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS???’, one person tweeted.

‘She just be putting her input anywhere where it don’t concern her’, argued another.

‘Everyone cracking jokes about the submarine but when nicki does it’s a problem…hm’, one person defended.

‘Nicki said nothing wrong, mind you the Gp (general public) are the one’s saying the messed up stuff & joking about that whole submarine incident’, wrote another.

Another Barb praised: ‘Nicki’s never afraid to say what we all think, she’s so real’.

One said her comments were ‘insensitive’ but added that the disaster ‘could have been easily avoided.’
