If you’re lucky enough to have a ticket to Glastonbury Festival 2023, then you could be in the crowd for an extraordinary moment – Elton John’s first-ever performance at the UK’s most iconic music festival.

Currently on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, Elton John will be taking to the pyramid stage to give a performance he has said will be ‘a little bit like having sex’… So we guess everyone is in for a treat.

The five-time Grammy winner has teased at some special guests that could be joining him during the brand new set, with speculation rife that everyone from Lorde to Britney Spears could be set to make an appearance.

Sadly, Sir Elton’s current 300-date tour is set to be his final one, wrapping up in July in Stockholm, Sweden, meaning that, technically, his performance at Glastonbury would be Elton John’s last touring performance in his home country.

So, when is the music legend set to play?

What has Elton John said about his Glastonbury show?

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the ‘Rocket Man’ singer said of his Glastonbury appearance: ‘It’s a different show to what people have been seeing.

‘On Farewell Yellow Brick Road, there’s quite a lot of deep cuts, it’s not all hits, and you’ve

got to keep people interested.

‘When you put a setlist together, I always say it’s a bit like having sex. You start off really well, then you chill out a little bit, then towards the end of the show all hell breaks loose.’

Elton has also teased that he might be opening his set with a song ‘he hasn’t performed in ten years.’

Only time will tell what Sir Elton has in store for Festivalgoers.
