The high-street chain took to social media to show off the new-in skirt, with many claiming it gives them 90s vibes.

While cargo skirts were incredibly popular back in the 90s, it’s safe to say that they’re now in their comeback era.

With the trendy skirts dominating the high-street once again, it’s no surprise that Next have jumped on board too.

Posting on TikTok under the username @nextofficial, the much-loved chain shared the clip with the caption ‘The hype is realllll.’

At the start of the clip, we saw the trainers of a person walking through a Next store.

The chain noted: “This is not a drill.”

Seconds later, the new cargo skirts were in full focus, hanging on a rail.

The much-loved shop then added: “Cargo skirts have landed.”

The stunning skirts are just £24.50 and come in four different colours – khaki green, tan brown, black and slate blue.

Not only this, but they range from x-small to x-large and also come in regular and petite options.

Next’s video has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has racked up a staggering 4.9million views.

It has 21.8k likes, 242 comments, 182 saves and 844 shares.

But TikTok users were left divided at the new skirts – while some loved them, others weren’t so keen.

One person said: “I want, I need.”

Another added: “I NEED.”

Whilst one shopper tagged two friends and shared: “Omg a trip to Next is needed.”

However, not everyone was as eager to get their hands on a cargo skirt – with many appalled at the resurgence of the 90s trend.

One shopper posted: “Nooooooooooooo argh the 90s.”

A second chimed in: “I can not do 90’s fashion again. NOOOOO!!”

A third commented: “Oh god I’m reliving my 90s nightmare.”

At the same time, another shopper stated: “God awful no.”
