Sarah Shahi has given us a behind-the-scenes insight into exactly how she prepared for the many intimate scenes on Sex/Life.

The show caused a stir with the raunchy moments, but the 43-year-old actress has revealed that not everything was as it seemed as in order to create the much-talked-about scenes, Sarah wore prosthetic breasts.

‘These were not my boobs,’ she stated on Instagram.

‘I wore them in any sex scene with Cooper or if I had to show boob while breastfeeding.’

The since-expired Instagram story was reported on by People, who also shared that Sarah spent three to four hours in the makeup chair each day on set.

Sarah also pointed out how the fake boobs were fitted to her body. ‘See?? Silicone glue right there,’ she wrote and pointed out the bottle positioned on her dressing table.

The Netflix show, which ran for two series, required Sarah to film quite a few NSFW scenes due to the nature of the plot (and the title!).

Sarah played Billie Mann, who is married to Cooper (Mike Vogel) in series one but fantasised about her sex life with ex-boyfriend Brad, who is played by her real-life boyfriend Adam Demos.

The second series focused on Billie and Cooper’s decision to end their marriage, and their attempts to move on from each other.

Adam had his own big moment when he walked out of the shower naked, which apparently caused 20 million viewers to pause and click rewind.

Speaking generally about the steamy scenes and naked moments the 38-year-old told Entertainment Weekly: ‘I was okay with it because you read the script and know what you’re getting yourself into from the start, so I don’t think you would sign on to a show after reading the scripts and then say no last minute.’

The ante was upped in series two when we see Cooper’s pal Devon (Jonathan Sadowski) unveiled the results of his penis reconstruction work in a gym changing room.

In very Sex/Life style, Devon’s manhood was severed in a car accident because he was receiving a blow job at the time of the collision, which caused his companion to chomp it off.

Devon was thrilled by the work of surgeons as he debuts his new wang in front of his pals, boasting: ‘I actually gained an inch.’

Despite creating the water cooler moments, the show finished after two series.
