Nintendo and Oreo are releasing a limited batch of Super Mario themed biscuits and scalpers are already listing them at ridiculously inflated prices.

The Super Mario franchise has really taken the spotlight this year, thanks to a massively successful film and a slew of game announcements revealed during June’s Nintendo Direct.

In response to this hype, Nintendo and Oreo have joined forces to unveil a limited edition assortment of Super Mario biscuits. These treats come in specially designed packets and feature an array of 16 biscuit designs, making them quite the unique snack.

Unfortunately, mere minutes after pre-orders for the Mario Oreos went live, scalpers wasted no time in flipping them on eBay for almost 10 times the original price.

Even before the biscuits have officially hit the market, they are already up for sale online at outrageous prices.

One daring seller has even listed their order for nearly £40, not to mention the additional £24 delivery fee from the US.

A quick glance at eBay reveals a range of listings, with prices ranging from $20 to $50 (around £16 to £40). This exorbitant markup is quite shocking when you consider that the original product is priced at a mere $5, which is approximately £3.90.

There’s even a scalper out there trying to offload two expired packs of Mario Oreos from an older collaboration for a whopping £30 – despite the fact that you’d be ill-advised to eat them.

The new Mario Oreos are set to make their grand debut across America on Monday, July 10. However, there’s currently no information regarding their availability in Europe and the UK.

What’s crazier is that the biscuits haven’t sold out on Oreos’ official website yet, meaning there’s absolutely no reason to shell out more than their asking price to get your hands on them, if you live in the US.
