WWE superstar Braun Strowman has admitted his recovery from injury is proving difficult.

The Monster of All monsters, who hasn’t wrestled on screen since the May 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, recently confirmed he had undergone major neck fusion surgery earlier this month.

Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, has been candid about his mental health struggles in the past, and he revealed his injury setback is a mental struggle, particularly after getting fired by WWE in 2021 before being rehired last year.

He tweeted: ‘I’m not gonna lie. This is hard. I hate not being able to do what I love. Especially after it was taken away from me two years ago.

‘Being back where I love and then again having it taken away again by things that I couldn’t control yet again is hard. I just want to wrestle!’

Plenty of people have flooded his Twitter post with messages of support, including fellow WWE superstar Chad Gable.

The Alpha Academy star wrote: ‘Stay positive, my guy. You’ll be back. I’ll be waiting when you return. I need my singles rematch since I’m pretty sure you very blatantly cheated last time in Minnesota (at least that’s how I remember it). #AThankYew’

The official account for the USA Network, which broadcasts Monday Night Raw in the US, replied: ‘Hopefully you have a speedy recovery and can get back on to giving those hands. Rooting for you!’

‘Hope you get well soon man! miss seeing you on tv,’ a fan responded, while another added: ‘Keep your head up and stay positive big man. I know it’s hard but keep the positive vibes going.’

Earlier this month, the 39-year-old wrestler shared a video of his surgery for his followers on Instagram, showing the procedure and explaining what he was having done.

At the time, he wrote: ‘Level one #fusion on my c4/c5 #vertebrae was in the great hands of #DrCordover at @andrews_sports_medicine was a great experience considering. Thank you to @wwe for always taking the up most care of us.’

He admitted being told he needed surgery was ‘very scary’ and while he’s facing a ‘little bit of time’ out of action, he was positive about his prospects.

Braun continued: ‘This was very scary to find out about having to have done and they were there every step of the way reassuring that I was going to have the best care possible. This will take a little bit of time to heal from.’
