After fans started complaining about Amouranth pulling out of a boxing event, the Twitch star felt the need to set the record straight about her health condition.
Amouranth recently took to Twitter to share her diagnosis of advanced ovarian failure and how it could impact her upcoming commitments, including her planned appearance at fellow streamer Ibai’s boxing event.
She revealed that she had actually received the diagnosis back in March, which caused disappointment among her fans and Ibai when it appeared she had pulled out of the event at the last minute.
However, Amouranth has now clarified that things didn’t unfold exactly that way, as her condition rapidly worsened a few hours prior to her scheduled trip to Spain, where the boxing event is set to occur.
Addressing the ‘misplaced resentment’ regarding her knowing since March, the streamer clarified that, at that time, her doctors didn’t discourage her from participating in the boxing event.
She doubled down by saying that even as late as mid-June, delaying treatment for her condition wouldn’t have posed any problems, and that she had planned to fight through any hormonal issues.
‘There was no reason to notify anyone outside my team about my medical situation, and I also didn’t want to seem like I was making excuses about the fight,’ Amouranth added.
Amouranth then dived into what went down during the weekend of June 24, which led her doctors to strongly discourage her from competing.
The streamer revealed that she experienced an unexpected menstrual cycle, causing her to schedule an emergency doctor’s appointment and ultimately miss her flight to Spain.
As her team had already embarked on the long-haul journey, she couldn’t immediately inform them about her deteriorating health, causing the news to break on social media first.
Amouranth went on to share that she’s receiving advice that highlights the stakes involved are more than just her fertility, although she didn’t specify what other issues might be involved.
She offered her sincere apologies to her fans and anyone she may have let down, explaining that she didn’t felt right to compete under such risky circumstances.
Concluding her string of tweets, Amouranth shared a photo of the medication required for her treatment, revealing that it cost her a whopping $9,800 (£7,700) for just the first week.
