Sofia Vergara’s ‘sexy’ new Walmart line looks ‘high-end’ but the wrong accessories could make it ‘matronly,’ expert says

THERE’S no one sexier than Sofia Vergara, says one celebrity stylist — so it’s no surprise her new Walmart fashion line sizzles.

But just because the 50-year-old bombshell looks red hot in her latest collection doesn’t mean just anyone could pull off her clothes.

Instagram/sofiavergaraCelebrity stylist Amanda Sanders said Sofia’s the epitome of sexy, but not everyone will look the same in her clothes[/caption]

Modern Family star Sofia debuted her own Walmart brand in 2019 with a casual denim line priced under $40 per piece.

In the years since, she’s expanded the line to include other clothing — and her Fall 2023 collection includes some trendy, glamorous pieces.

But celebrity stylist and fashion consultant Amanda Sanders warns that Sofia’s stylish line could look matronly in the wrong hands.

“This is very fashion-forward for Walmart,” Sanders told The U.S. Sun.

“The people who are shopping at Walmart may just be getting groceries, so maybe this will bring more traction or a younger crowd to Walmart.”

Certainly, shoppers picking up pieces from the line will be looking to replicate Sofia’s sex appeal.

“Sofia is the epitome of sexy and spicy and every other adjective you could think of for, like, a sex bomb,” she said.

“Nobody is sexier than her.

“It’s just the way she carries herself and her proportions, and how she is styled as well.”

But not everyone has Sofia’s figure — or, more importantly, her confidence.

Sanders said the sleeveless dresses in the new collection are young and sexy, and definitely meant for someone who is comfortable showing off her arms.

“And most women over, like, 40 hate their arms,” Sanders added.

“So somebody who buys that is inclined to put something over it, which I always think makes it look kind of matronly.”

The style pro noted that other looks, including one with a big floral print and roomy silhouette, could also look matronly on someone besides Sofia.

“Sofia is very cosmopolitan, thin-looking, and again, she’s very comfortable in her body.

“I’ve yet to see her put on anything that I thought was, like, really unflattering.

Instagram/sofiavergaraSanders said the combo of this print and cut might look matronly on someone who doesn’t have Sofia’s curves[/caption]

“But the problem is, because she’s so beautiful and her shape is amazing, it’s hard to translate that to somebody [who] might be going into Walmart.

“I perhaps think a Walmart woman may not be as shapely as she is, and may not want to show off her body as much.

“She’s certainly not like your typical 50-year-old Midwestern, average American woman.”

She also noted that while the pieces look “fantastic” on her, they may have also been pinned or altered to perfectly hug her frame.

“They look great on her, but that doesn’t mean they will look great on everyone.”

That being said, Sanders pointed to one item in the new collection that’s an easy hit.

“A leopard top is universal,” she said, referring to a $26.98 bodysuit that the actress has modeled with jeans.

She called it “fresh and simple,” a neutral that can be worn with anything and “it gives it a little extra pop.”

“It can go with white jeans, black jeans, or blue jeans.

“You can throw a leather jacket over it, you can throw a jean jacket over it, you can wear a blazer over it.

“So there’s a great layering piece.”

She’s also a fan of a $34 blue halter maxi dress that Sofia modeled on Instagram.

“I think that’s fun and summery. I think that the only thing about it is that she’s very busty, and she’s showing a lot of bust,” she said.

Overall, she thinks Walmart — which has luxury items available online but rarely in store — “may be trying to get a higher-end client” with Sofia’s collection.
