Madonna’s boxer boyfriend posted a motivational quote on his Instagram while the singer was in the ICU after being found unresponsive.

Josh Popper, 29, last posted to his Instagram two days ago, before news broke of his girlfriend’s serious bacterial infection which left her hospitalised.

The professional boxer shared a series of pictures of himself in the ring with a motivational caption while Madonna, 64, was in the ICU.

He wrote: ‘“Give yourself permission to live a big life. Step into who you were meant to be. Stop playing small. You are meant for greater things”.

‘Thank you to my coach @fftstrong, my family, and the Bredwinners team for being by my side.’

He then shared the post on his story but has not appeared to be active since the public found out about Madonna’s health scare.

Fans are unsure if the post was connected to Madonna, given the inspirational quote included.

‘Josh, is Madonna okay? :(,’ asked one concerned fan, while the rest of the comments were from before the announcement about the singer’s health.

The boxer has been dating Madonna, who is 35 years his senior, for a few months with the singer confirming their relationship in March this year.

Madonna has been in hospital since June 24, after she was found unresponsive and had to be intubated by medics.

Her sons Rocco Ritchie, 22, and David Banda, 17, have been spotted out and about for the first time today, looking concerned as they went to her apartment in New York.

Daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, is also reported to be by her mum’s side and has been since the incident.

Madonna has three other children; Mercy, 17, Stella, and Estere, both 10.

The singer had been rehearsing for her celebration tour, putting in 12-hour days in preparation for the sold-out events which have now been postponed.

‘Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,’ shared manager Guy Oseary.

The family had been ‘preparing for the worst’ according to an insider and had decided not to share news of Madonna’s condition at first.

‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,’ they added to Mail Online.
