Sting may have lost a tooth and has been left needing stitches are after a painful fall on AEW Dynamite.

The World Championship Wrestling (WCW) legend, who has also appeared for WWE and IMPACT Wrestling during his illustrious career before joining All Elite Wrestling three years ago, took a scary dive from a ladder through a table on Wednesday night’s show.

The bold move came during the main event as he teamed up with his protege against ‘The Painmaker’ Chris Jericho and Sammy Guervara.

The four stars met in a Tornado Tag Tea Match with the action spilling outside the ring before the 64-year-old wrestler threw caution to the wind.

At one point, he hit a flying splash from a ladder in the ring onto Guevara, who was outside on a table.

Unfortunately for The Icon, despite him and Darby emerging victorious, it was a rough landing as table failed to break, and he has since revealed the extent of his injuries.

Speaking after the show went off the air, he told the crowd: ‘I’m gonna have a bunch of stitches and my lip, and a tooth that seems halfway knocked out, and it was worth it to be right here. Thank you to Tony Khan for allowing me to do this.’

He also thanked Darby Allin for the role he’s playing in this final stage of his career, with the pair linked since his debut in AEW.

Sting previously revealed his contract expires at some point in 2023, and while his retirement is approaching, he’s ‘not decided on a date’ as of yet.

Addressing AEW’s upcoming All In London show at Wembley Stadium in August, he previously told press at the Forbidden Door post-show scrum: ‘A lot of people have actually wondered if I was going to retire at Wembley.

‘That would be kind of cool, but I don’t see that happening. I think I’m going to continue on. Tony has been in my ear here and there saying, “Steve, you can stay as long as you want.”

‘I’m not sure how long that will be, but like I said a few months ago, Showtime is just about over with, and it truly is, but I’m looking forward to going back to London.’

AEW Dynamite (Wednesdays) and Collision (Saturdays) air at 1am on Fite TV.
