Liv Morgan has admitted her recent injury spell was difficult to deal with.

The WWE superstar returned on SmackDown last week after a month and a half out of action due to injury, and she will be back in the ring on Saturday night to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Titles at Money In The Bank in London.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk at an event for GirlUp and National Association of of Boys and Girls Clubs (NABGC) before this weekend’s show at The O2, she said: ‘We’re on the road 365, there’s no off season, there’s no sport like WWE – it never stops.

‘So, to go from that schedule to being at home for six weeks, at first it was rough on my mental [health]. I feel like, first of all, I couldn’t do all that I know!

‘Wrestling and WWE, to this point in my life, it’s all I knew how to do since I was 20 years old.’

It left Liv – who previously told us all about her love of horror films – pondering what else she enjoys in life, and she ended up finding new hobbies to help her deal with the layoff.

‘To have that taken it was like, what are my hobbies, what are my likes, what are my interests, what am I into? It was like a rediscovery journey a little bit,’ she added.

‘It was very hard at first, but I kind of just… I bought a piano! I played video games, I tried to do things I found joy in.’

She’s excited to be getting back to her ‘comfort zone’, and she’s feeling ‘really good’ heading into her and Raquel Rodriguez’s match with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

‘To be back doing what I love, I couldn’t be happier. I do have a ring in my backyard, so as far as ring rust,’ she teased. ‘I’m not concerned! Going into the match though, I know I have a big feat in front of me. You know, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, they’re no joke!’

However, Liv has history with Ronda and cashed in on her at last year’s Money In The Bank premium live event to become SmackDown Women’s Champion.

It means she’s more motivated than ever for a repeat performance heading into this weekend, after her injury meant she and Raquel were stripped of their titles.

‘I don’t know if you remember Money In the Bank last year,’ she smiled. ‘I did beat Ronda Rousey and so I’m looking to have a two-peat and do the same this year and win back my tag team titles!’
