Shoppers rush to buy new M&S summer dress that ‘clings in the right places’ – and you’ll have change from a £20 note too

FINDING the perfect summer dress is no mean feat – it has to be light but not see-through, soft but not shapeless and good quality without breaking the bank.

Shoppers claim they have found a frock that ticks every box – and the Marks and Spencer number will even leave you change from a £20 note.

M&S’ Jersey V-Neck Midi T-Shirt Dress costs £19.50 and comes in four colours of copper, black, electric blue and bayleaf.

The “versatile” dress has been tried and tested for casual and dressy occasions by fashion fans.

One woman even wore it to horse racing event Royal Ascot last weekend.

“I was instore looking at print dresses to wear to Ascot,” she said. “And by chance I spotted this in copper and though it is plain.

“But teamed with nude shoes, a bag and chunky silver jewellery, it looked great.”

Another shopper said it “clings in the right places” thanks to the stretchiness of the material.

Its elasticity also left women delighted that they could size down in the dress and still found it looked flattering.

The frock drapes softly over the body to hide ‘mum tums’ and lumps and bumps.

It has an average rating of four stars from M&S shoppers on the retailer’s website.

“I now have a dress for normal, slightly fatter and slightly thinner days,” one woman said.

Bosses at M&S dubbed the dress “your ideal partner for casual days”.

“It’s cut to a comfy regular fit with cap sleeves and a wide v-neckline,” they said. “The dress is made from pure cotton jersey for a flattering drape.”

However, one issue noted by shoppers was that, due to the delicate nature of the material, the dress lost its shape in the wash.

One owner of the dress advised handwashing it to avoid this.

Others warned against wearing dark underwear with the frock as it can become visible in certain lightings.

“It’s thin material but fine with the right underwear,” one woman assured.

Fashion fans had the same reaction to M&S’ new essentials vest that “goes with everything”.

The Cotton Rich Ribbed Slim Fit Vest Top costs just £8.50 and comes in eleven colours… but it was the white style that had everyone talking.
