The Bank of England has stated its paternal leave will include any pregnant parent regardless of gender in an LGBTQ+ appeal and Laurence Fox is upset about it.
In an application to be considered by charity Stonewall as one of the leading employers for LGBTQ+ rights, the UK’s central bank outlined gender natural language.
Fox, 45, does not work for the bank but angrily tweeted against the inclusive language in its internal policies just weeks after burning pride flags.
He wrote: ‘Just be a f**king bank. People of any gender can be pregnant, Bank of England states.’
According to The Times, the bank gives parental leave to the ‘birthing parent’ in a move away from the traditionally gendered maternity and paternity leave.
This was defined as the ‘parent who is/was pregnant with the child but includes persons of any and all gender identities’.

The policy was part of the Bank of England’s submission to LGBTQ+ rights charity Stonewall, which compiles a list of the top 100 inclusive employers each year.
Bank of England also noted that it was planning to upgrade the London offices to include more gender-neutral toilets throughout the building.
Along with physical infrastructure, the submission also included action to have staff members work towards inclusivity objectives, which will be assessed yearly.
Gender reassignment surgery is already available through the private healthcare policy used by the bank.
These policies all apply to employees but will not impact anyone who does not work for the Bank of England, which is currently under fire for inflation rates.
Stonewall’s list celebrates the companies which have done ‘great work’ over the past year for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Bank of England was not listed in last year’s announcement, with the highest banks Citi and HSBC in 10th and 12th places respectively.
Employers like Wickes, Tesco and Swansea University all made the top 15, with law firm Clifford Chance taking the top spot.
This is Fox’s latest attack on the LGBTQ+ community, after he burned the pride flag in June and posted the video online.
The former actor often criticises moves to become more gender inclusive and was banned from Twitter last year for changing his profile picture to one that was manipulated to resemble a ‘swastika’.
He’s also indulged in anti-vaccine rhetoric, speaking out against the Astra-Zenica covid job in April of this year, leading to a dressing down from a doctor.
While on GB News, Dr Bharat hit back at Fox and said: ‘I sometimes wonder why you exist, to be honest with you.’
