Trisha Paytas addressed the Colleen Ballinger controversy after the pair launched the podcast Oversharing together, claiming they felt ‘disrespected’ and ’embarrassed’.

Ballinger, also known as Miranda Sings, was accused of inappropriate behaviour with fans both online and at live shows, many of whom were minors at the time.

The 36-year-old chose to refute these allegations through a ukelele song, which has been widely ridiculed online.

New screenshots have ‘dragged’ co-host Paytas into the controversy as Ballinger appeared to send unsolicited nudes of the 35-year-old into a group chat containing minors.

In a 20-minute video, titled ‘Colleen’, Paytas claimed they weren’t ‘aware’ of the alleged inappropriate behaviour before agreeing to work with the Hater’s Back Off star.

The non-binary star explained they ‘related to’ and ‘quickly really cared about’ their co-host and spent time with her family, meeting Ballinger’s newborn baby, so the nudes allegation was ‘hurtful’.

Paytas, who has been involved in drama multiple times, admitted they had ‘done stuff in [their] past that’s not cool by today’s standard’ so had wanted to give their co-host the benefit of the doubt before speaking out.

Oversharing’s first episode was released in May 2023 and only aired four times before the accusations against the host halted it in early June.

‘It’s a very hard boundary, one that I don’t let up on with anybody,’ Paytas said about friendships with minors and fans. ‘I think it’s weird.’

In screenshots posted online, it appeared that Ballinger sent Paytas’ nudes into a group chat in order to mock them, as well as holding screening parties to make fun of them.

The Youtube personality has always been open about their job as a sex worker and clarified that all their OnlyFans content is behind a paywall that is age restricted.

‘It’s a topic I don’t take lightly and I can’t take lightly,’ shared Paytas, ‘We already have a lot of stigma, misconceptions, and allegations against us as sex workers so I need to nip this in the bud.

‘I do not condone at all sending unsolicited nudes to anybody, of anybody – sex worker or not. I think using someone’s nudes as a way to hurt them, make fun of them, [and] be mean is the lowest form of intelligence.

‘I think that’s so inhumane, I think that’s so disgusting for anyone.’

According to Paytas, the ukelele player ‘vehemently denied’ sending the nudes and instead claimed a fan had sent them to her and was obsessed with the Frenemies star.

‘That’s probably the worst I’ve seen from someone I’ve considered a friend, that’s pretty barbaric, it’s pretty misogynistic and it is downright cruel,’ Paytas confessed.

The nudes were allegedly sent to a fan who was a minor at the time, as well as a fan in their 20s, although Paytas added that there was no proof for some of the accusations.

‘I am so sorry to that person if this is true, I’m sorry, I know first hand how traumatising that can be. I had nothing to do with it, I think it’s the most disgusting thing and above all else illegal,’ they continued.

‘A grown woman in their 30s doing this to someone who’s been in their house, been around their family, you have some issues, it’s a sickness.’

Paytas added: ‘I don’t stand by her, I’m embarrassed to be associated with her, I’m embarrassed for the fans that she messaged those to.

‘That should never have happened and again this really hurts sex workers as a whole, this is out there and it looks like we’re some deviants because it was used in this way. It’s disgusting.’

Concluding the video, Paytas said: ‘That’s it. That is my statement on it and I’m not going to speak on this again, I will never speak on Colleen again. She just does not exist to me anymore.

‘This is not me cancelling her, she will always be around, I’m sure she’ll be fine. I’m just publicly disavowing any association I have with her.’

Metro has reached out to Ballinger for a response.
