I went mad in the ASOS sample sale because everything was a fiver – and the good thing is, it’s STILL going on

A FASHIONISTA has let people in on a little shopping secret… ASOS has a website where everything is being flogged for £5.

The ASOS Sample Sale site was set up last week and has caused a frenzy amongst shoppers rushing to nab new clothes for cheap.

Content creator Faye Ellaby was among those who got lucky on the new website.

She spent a total of £38 including shipping for a haul of dresses and shoes.

“I think the world and his wife know that ASOS are having stock issues at the minute,” she explained in a TikTok video.

“So I think they set up this sample sale to basically get rid of overstock.”

Sample sales tend to be pieces that brands created but never took to mass production.

However, Faye managed to nab items she had been eyeing up on the original ASOS site, complementing her theory that the sale site was set up to flog overstock.

The “star of the show” from her haul was a pair of blue leather boots.

She also tried on a host of Topshop pieces and maxi dresses, with some getting the seal of approval and others getting sent back.

Faye even nabbed a Reclaimed Vintage blue and black waistcoat that she had her eye on at full price on the main ASOS website.

“Don’t buy stuff you don’t actually need or want,” Faye said.

“Because overconsumption, and all that.

“All in all, I didn’t do too badly.

“The boots were the star of the show but I loved that third dress and the waistcoat I’m thrilled with.”

However, some eagle-eyed shoppers noted that sending back the ‘sample pieces’ isn’t a straight forward process.

One person explained in the comments of Faye’s video that returns are charged per item.

“They charge you per item to return,” they warned.

“Probably works out better to sell online.”
