Kevin Spacey has slammed allegations of sexual assault against him as ‘absolute bollocks’.

The actor, 63, is up at Southwark Crown Court accused of charges including sexual assault and indecent assault against four men in the UK, which he denies.

Spacey is facing cross-examination by Prosecutor Christine Agnew KC, and has again continued to deny all the claims against him.

Responding to accusations he had made ‘vile comments’ towards a man he met in a West End theatre in the mid-2000s, Spacey denied this.

He said there were ‘deeply personal’ reasons why he would not do such a thing.

After it was put to him that he assaulted the man, Spacey replied: ‘Absolute bollocks.’

Agnew KC then said: ‘Because that’s exactly where you did grab him, isn’t it?’

Spacey asked: ‘Really?,’ before turning to the judge and asking: ‘Did he accuse me of grabbing his bollocks?’

The defendant eventually said: ‘I did not.’

In the same questioning, Spacey claimed the complainant in the West End theatre who accused him of grabbing his crotch ‘like a cobra’ of making ‘up his entire story from beginning to end.’

He also denied sexually assaulting an aspiring actor who claimed Spacey had ‘drugged’ him before waking up to find him performing a sex act on him.

Responding to prosecution accusations that he sexually assaulted the man, Spacey said, according to the PA news agency: ‘I have denied that.’

‘I continue denying that and it is not true.’

He called the allegations ‘completely wrong and upsetting,’ and also denied trying to prevent the complainant from telling anyone about what allegedly transpired between them.

Responding to the suggestion that he might have ‘ignored’ signs from the four complainants, Spacey said he ‘definitely misread’ signs from one complainant who rejected an alleged sexual grab at a rented property in the Cotswolds in the 2010s.

The actor added that he had ‘consensual interactions’ with two other complainants – one who drove him to a party in the early 2000s and the aspiring actor who claimed Spacey had ‘drugged’ him.

He pleaded not guilty in January to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The two-time Academy Award winner also previously denied four further charges of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

The alleged offences are claimed to have been committed between 2001 and 2013.

The trial continues.
