The dust may have only just seemed to settle on the This Morning drama, but some people have mistakenly believed it’s being turned into a TV show.
Back in May, long-time host Phillip Schofield announced his exit from ITV’s flagship breakfast programme after admitting to lying about an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague.
In the two months since, his former co-host Holly Willoughby has been presenting the show alongside people including Craig Doyle, Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary, with Schofield’s replacement yet to be announced.
But during a recent appearance on the show by Lily Allen and Steve Pemberton, who were there to speak about their West End show The Pillowman, a photo shared to on social media confused many.
Simply showing the pair sitting on a sofa in the studio smiling at the camera, the similarities between the actors and the TV presenters was uncanny for some.
‘Genuinely thought this was a first look at a new Channel 5 drama about Phillip Schofield,’ one person posted on Twitter.

Many others chimed in and offered their thoughts soon after.
‘This looks like a Black Mirror impersonation,’ someone commented.
‘I would watch that,’ another added.
Someone else said that if it wasn’t a planned series, it ‘needs to be’.
Last week one long-time This Morning contributor explained she believed that things were back to normal following the attention on the show in recent months.
Dr. Zoe, who has given medical advice to viewers for a number of years, said everything was now ‘business as normal’ after staff had initially worried about their jobs amid the controversy.
She told HELLO Magazine: ‘It feels like everything’s back to business as normal now. More than anything, I’ve really felt for the staff and the people in the production office. It’s a big team and we all get on.
‘There was a point where I think everybody felt that their jobs were in jeopardy, and there are people who’ve worked on the show for decades.’
While she said it had been a ‘really emotional and difficult time’, she thought they were all ‘out the other end’.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
