Tesco shoppers are raving about a £55 suitcase scanning for £13.75 – but not everyone’s convinced

IT’S every holidaymaker’s biggest fear – getting to the boarding gate and being told your hand luggage is too big.

Some airlines are even known to charge you £80 on the spot to be allowed to bring your bag on the flight.

And with the cost of living crisis, most people would rather avoid that cost.

What’s more, lots of us are foregoing checked-in luggage to save money and bringing our whole holiday wardrobe on flights as hand luggage.

One shopper took to Facebook this morning to reveal she had found the ultimate cabin bag bargain.

Sian Weller found Constellation Trio Lite Cabin Cases in Tesco for almost 70% cheaper than full price.

Originally £55, the supermarket is now flogging the little case cubes for £13.75.

And while Sian thought the case was a bargain, not everyone was convinced the bag actually was “cabin approved”.

The 55x38x23cm wheeled case is still too big for Ryanair and EasyJet’s free hand luggage requirements.

Ryanair only allows bags on for free with dimensions of 40x25x20cm, while EasyJet’s dimensions are 45x36x20cm.

“Too big for EasyJet,” Heather Francis commented on Sian’s post.

“Had a nightmare trying to find a bag for my carry-on last month.”

“These are reduced for a reason,” Rosemary McClenaghan added.

“Depends on which airline you are travelling with.

“If you think it might be of use to you, take a tape measure with you as sometimes the advertised sizes do not include the wheels.

“But the airlines when measuring do include the wheels and handle, especially Ryanair.”

However, the discounted mini suitcase will fit on Jet2, British Airways and Aer Lingus flights as a free carry-on.
