Swifties across the country have been reaching whole new levels of excitement as tickets for the much-anticipated Taylor Swift Eras tour go on sale this week.

The Blank Space singer recently released another ‘Taylor’s Version’ album – this time choosing to re-record her 2010 album Speak Now following the release of her last studio album Midnights earlier in the year.

So far, it seems safe to say some fans have had a rocky experience in trying to get a hold of the tickets for the Eras tour.

Pre-ordering Midnights allowed fans to get onto the pre-sale list for the Eras tour, with Tay Tay visiting the UK for 13 live shows next year.

Three of those shows are set to take place in Scotland, with one of the world’s biggest pop stars coming to Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the venue Miss Swift is going to be playing.

What is the capacity of Murrayfield Stadium Edinburgh?

According to VisitScotland, BT Murrayfield Stadium is the largest stadium in Scotland and has the capacity to hold 67,144 people.

Murrayfield is usually a sports stadium and is commonly referred to as the home of Scottish Rugby.

On April 21, 1925, Scotland marked a triumph over their ‘Auld Enemy’ rivals, England, in achieving a Grand Slam with the inauguration of the Murrayfield Stadium.

Taylor Swift is not the first famous musician to play at the stadium – One Direction, Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones have all chosen the venue for their Scottish tour shows in the past.
