A BBC technical glitch appeared to transform the Look North studio into a ‘rave’, but presenter Clare Frisby handled it like a pro.

The broadcaster has been no stranger to live blunders over the last few weeks, from an accidental ‘Breaking News’ banner interrupting coverage to studios being plunged into darkness.

Just days ago, one presenter was left with a ‘Minnie Mouse’ voice, while elsewhere, BBC viewers were distracted when random people hijacked the background of a news report, causing havoc on a tiny screen.

And on Thursday, another blunder occurred, but nothing Frisby couldn’t handle.

In a clip shared by BBC weather presenter Abbie Dewhurst, Frisby was seen chatting on the red sofa behind cameras, but the lights around her were flashing erratically.

‘It’s Thursday but the BBC Look North studio very much thinks it’s Friday,’ Dewhurst laughed.

She added: ‘Slight technical issue this morning handled with perfection by the ever professional @ClareFrisby.’

‘Morning rave in progress,’ one viewer joked, while someone else laughed: ‘Get the Drum&Bass music on.’

Frisby herself later Tweeted: ‘Always a party at Breakfast.’

This comes after the BBC News channel was interrupted by three people causing havoc on a TV screen in the background set.

The reporter, who was seemingly unaware, was informing viewers on Tuesday 18 July about Jaguar Land Rover’s plan to build a battery factory in Somerset.

It was at this point the TV screen positioned just behind the reporter showed a man excitedly running onto a news set, lanyard swinging.

He paused briefly, and gave a big smile, before running back in the direction he came.

He may have been posing for a photo, and if that was the case he wasn’t happy with the first shot as he quickly returned for take two – this time he leant on the desk and once again gave a big grin.

The next unexpected stars were two men who gave a quick wave and scrambled away, and a woman who performed a bold double hand wave.

‘Love this. Hope none of them get into trouble. World needs more of this,’ shared one person.

Another added: ‘Haha, amazing! Got to have fun where you can get it.’
