Denise Welch can only sunbathe for 3 minutes a day in blistering Malta thanks to heatwave-Lucy Norris-Entertainment – Metro

Denise Welch revealed she was struggling to cope with Europe’s soaring temperatures as she attempted to lap up the sun in Malta. 

The 65-year-old Loose Women panellist shared an update from her getaway with her Instagram fans on Wednesday and admitted she was too hot to properly lay out in the scorching heat. 

Posing underneath a tree whose leaves she was trying to use for some shade, the broadcaster glowed in a multi-coloured one-piece swimsuit.

She showed off her water-proof wear that featured a neon-infused palm tree pattern in pink, yellow, green, orange and blue and wore some beige-coloured platform shoes to keep her feet off the hot stones. 

Alongside the summery snap, the star revealed the reason she was not sitting on the sun-lounger during this particular holiday.

Denise penned a message to fans that read: ‘And before you ask…..yes I do always sunbathe perched on the edge of a small table using my husbands shirt as a tablecloth!! Who doesn’t!!!

‘Anyway there’s only time for 3 minutes a day sunbathing as it’s soooo f…..g hot!!!

‘But we’re in a beautiful boutique hotel and it’s a great excuse to do nothing but lie around, get massages, read and eat!! Bliss. The Village Hotel and Spa Naxxar @lincolntownley @the_village_hotel_and_spa @lighterlife #malta [sic].’ 

Fans rushed to the comment section to leave words of praise for the mum of The 1975 singer Matty Healy and complimented her on her choice of outfit for her sunning session.

One said: ‘Beautiful & love your swimming costume! [sic],’ while another shared: ‘U look amazing Denise [sic].’ 

‘Who deist sunbathe this way. Looking fab [sic],’ a separate account typed following a social media user’s words that read: ‘Looking incredible! I’m about 30 years younger and look nothing close to this how do you do it. Wow! [sic].’ 

Celebrity friends Carol Vorderman and Daisy May Cooper also took time out to tell the star what they thought of her Maltese photoshoot, writing: ‘Whit whoo x [sic],’ and ‘those legs! [sic],’ respectively.

Her holiday snap came one week after she paid an adorable tribute to her second husband Lincoln Townley – who is 14 years her junior.

The pair wed in 2013 in Portugal’s Algarve following her divorce from Benidorm star Tim Healy.

Next to a reel featuring pictures from their fairytale day all those years ago, she wrote: ‘Happy 10th wedding anniversary to the man who turned my life around @lincolntownley .

‘I’m grateful everyday that our meeting in that nightclub at 6am led to a love story that NO ONE, including us, could ever have imagined.

‘I love and cherish the sober life that we have created together for ourselves and our family.
