Whoopi Goldberg accused her co-host Joy Behar of ‘overshadowing’ her during Wednesday’s The View, just one day after the Sister Act star walked off the stage in a heated row.

But this time, it wasn’t a tense debate that irked Whoopi, 67. Instead, Joy’s phone ringing on air had her annoyed.

Introducing Hot Topics, Whoopi began: ‘Yesterday, Ron DeSantis sat with Jake Tapper for his first big interview as a presidential candidate but was seemingly overshadowed.’

She then interrupted herself, looking over at Joy: ‘Did your phone really just ring?’

‘No it did not,’ the 80-year-old replied, before adding: ‘Ignore it’.

Whoopi then continued, but not without a little jibe.

Joy chuckled and hid her face in embarrassment (Picture: ABC)

‘Well, it’s hard, it’s hard,’ she said, according to Mail Online.

She said: ‘Kind of like I was just overshadowed by her phone, Ron DeSantis was overshadowed by You-Know-Who’s latest potential indictment.’

The stars were all left chuckling over the moment, which certainly hasn’t been the first phone to interrupt a segment.

This comes after Whoopi was involved in a heated debate over Miranda Lambert, after the 39-year-old singer lashed out at her own fans when audience members posed for selfies during her concert.

Her reaction been divisive, to say the least, and on Tuesday’s The View, Whoopi’s co-star Sunny Hostin, 54, said she was ‘going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets. I’m sorry, just me!’

Whoopi was on Miranda’s side, however, and hit back: ‘You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come.’

Whoopi later walked off the stage to sit beside an audience member and said: ‘I want to take a picture with this marvellous woman, who is 91.’

‘So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Will you push that button?’ she asked the startled fan, before the show cut to an ad break.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
