A Doctor Who star has already been making serious bank way before their upcoming debut on the BBC sci-fi drama.

Ncuti Gatwa, 30, who was announced as Jodie Whittaker’s replacement last year, is worth nearly £1,000,000.

The Barbie actor’s company Gemini Moon Limited latest accounts reveals he has £915,673 cash at the bank, plus an additional £39,313 incoming from debtors, according to Companies House.

It’s no surprise Ncuti has been earning a pretty penny as he’s fast becoming one of the most exciting stars on screen.

His breakout role was in Netflix’s smash-hit Sex Education, in which he appears as Otis’ (Asa Butterfield) best friend Eric, earning him multiple Bafta nominations for best male comedy performance.

The Stonemouth actor was then snapped up by director Greta Gerwig for the film of the summer, Barbie, which stars A-listers including Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

But Whovians are most looking forward to seeing Ncuti as the fifteenth Time Lord on the BBC later this year, alongside the doctor’s companion played by Millie Gibson.

At the time, he said he was ‘deeply honoured, beyond excited and a little bit scared’ to have been cast, but would endeavour to ‘handle the unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care’.

However, during an interview with Rolling Stone UK, Ncuti admitted that he wasn’t a massive fan of the show, but before auditioning for the part he decided to watch every single episode since its 2005 revival, after which he emerged a die-hard Whovian.

‘I fell in love with it. When you watch it, you forget all your troubles,’ he shared.

‘You go to space, or to another time. You have adventures.’

He also explained that his version of the character would be ‘emotionally vulnerable’ and while he hid those traits with humour, he was ‘lonely’.

Earlier this year, Ncuti achieved the feat of being singled out as the most powerful person on British TV.
