Man in connection to Michael K Williams’ death sentenced to 30 months in prison-Stella Akinwumi-Entertainment – Metro
Williams died from a drug overdose.

The man who sold a fatal dose of heroin and fentanyl to The Wire actor Michael K Williams has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.
The star, who died at the age of 54, was found dead at the start of September 2021 in the living room of his penthouse, by his nephew.
The Medical Examiner has ruled that the cause of death was acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, p-fluorofentanyl, heroin and cocaine, according to TMZ.
The actor’s death was confirmed by his rep Marianna Shafran on September 6, as she said in a statement to Metro.co.uk: ‘It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams.
‘They ask for your privacy while grieving this unsurmountable loss.’
Carlos Macci, 71, is one of four people who have been charged with supplying heroin laced with the opioid. They have all pleaded guilty.

Macci pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy in federal court in April and Judge Ronnie Abrams handed down the sentenceon Tuesday [July 25].
‘Selling drugs like heroin and fentanyl not only cost Mr. Williams his life but is costing you your freedom,’ Abrams told Macci.
‘I would like to say, your honor, I’m sorry for what has happened,’ Macci said, according to AP.
This comes after The Wire co-creator David Simon pleaded with the judge to free Macci.

‘What happened to Mike is a grievous tragedy,’ Simon wrote according to the New York Times. ‘But I know that Michael would look upon the undone and desolate life of Mr. Macci and know two things with certainty: First, that it was Michael who bears the fuller responsibility for what happened.’
The second is ‘no possible good can come from incarcerating a 71-year-old soul, largely illiterate, who has himself struggled with a lifetime of addiction.’
They added that Macci didn’t sell drugs for profit ‘but rather as someone caught up in the diaspora of addiction himself.’
