Megan Fox has broken her silence after receiving intense backlash when she asked her followers to donate to her friend’s GoFundMe page.

The actress, 37, hit headlines when she shared a screenshot of the fundraising page to her social media pages.

Brittney Boyce’s fundraising page was requesting $30,000 to help with medical expenses for her dad, after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Alongside the screengrab and a link, Megan – who is thought to have a net worth of around $8million – penned: ‘My friend’s dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please do.’

Fans were left raging after seeing the post, with many questioning why she hasn’t offered the family some of her own money instead of asking her 21million followers.

She’s now addressed the backlash.

Megan began: ‘Hey weirdos do any of you have the emotional intelligence to consider that maybe Brit doesn’t want her celebrity clients donating large sums of money to her because it creates a dynamic in her working relationships that makes her uncomfortable?

‘So instead she asked me to post the GoFundMe so that many people could donate small amounts of money to help them reach their goal.’

Megan went on: ‘I just obliged her request anything she needs from me personally she will ask and I will do privately.’

‘One thing you’re not going to accuse me of is being miserly or lacking generosity.’

She concluded: ‘So try again on another day (probably tmrw! with some different bulls**t you bunch of psychos.’

This comes after fans raged on Twitter, with one writing: ‘Millionaire Megan Fox just posted a gofundme on her Instagram story for her friend’s dad’s 30 grand cancer medical bills and I am absolutely speechless.’

‘Megan Fox sharing a gofundme for 30k has got to be a joke,’ another agreed. ‘As if she isn’t rich as f**k and could help their friend immediately lol.’
