Financial expert Martin Lewis is taking a well-earned break from ensuring we all make savings.

Much like our bank accounts after a Saturday night out – Martin is requiring some rest and this includes pausing his ITV show Martin Lewis Money Show.

Martin, 51, announced his temporary departure from our lives on Twitter.

‘Bye for now,’ he began.

‘I’m signing off for a few weeks to take a break, from social media and work, for a battery recharge’.

In a very Martin move he also offered a final piece of advice – he was never going to leave us without a final word!

‘I’ll be leaving all the MoneySaving, any interest rate or price cap change news in the brilliantly capable hands of the @MoneySavingExp team – while I try and stay radio silent,’ he explained.

‘Meantime pls be wary of criminals who in the past ramped up scam-ads with me in when I’m not posting. And if you spot them, do report them to the platform. Take care. Martin.’

An exact return date has yet to be revealed but the show’s official social media page told viewers that they will be back in Autumn.

The last episodes aired in June, and we’ve still got to wait at least two months for the live programme to come back to the box.

Martin is also a regular presenter on Good Morning Britain. He recently interrupted normal show proceedings to read out a heartfelt letter that he’d recently received.

The anonymous writer thanked Martin for sharing information about a change in the law which led to a life-changing amount of cash.

‘I had some tears in my eyes last night – I’ve had a stressful couple of weeks and I got a lovely message,’ he told co-host Susanna Reid.

Susanna, 52, also heaped the praise on Martin calling him the ‘cost of living crisis hero in action’ and added, ‘not all heroes wear capes, some don’t even wear ties’.
