Legendary TV star Angela Rippon is the second celebrity joining this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
The 78-year-old presenter made themselves known on today’s episode of The One Show alongside actress Amanda Abbington who was confirmed as the first contestant.
Angela first hosted Come Dancing, the show that provided inspiration to the BBC programme that we know and love today.
‘Having been a fan of Strictly since day one, and as a former presenter of Come Dancing, this will be quite an adventure for me,’ she said.
‘A scary one, considering I’m about to be 79. But I’m really looking forward to the challenge, and perhaps being able to learn to dance the Argentinian Tango!!’
Amongst those rumoured to be joining them on the dancefloor are Stuart Broad, Brenda Williams, and Les Dennis.
The long-running ballroom competition was won in 2022 by celeb cameraman-turned-dancer Hamza Yassin and his professional partner Jowita Przystal.
