Love Island 2023 is done and dusted, and the contestants are back home after almost two months of recouplings, drama, dumpings, challenges and of course romance.

Sammy Root and Jess Harding were crowned the winners of this summer’s series ahead of fan favourites Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki – whom many viewers had been convinced were going to take the title.

It’s not quite time to say goodbye to the villa yet though as we have one final staple of Love Island to look forward to: the reunion episode.

When is the Love Island reunion on TV and where can you watch it?

When is the Love Island reunion?

Love Island: The Reunion will take place on Sunday August 6 at 9pm on ITV2.

The episode will run for one hour and 35 minutes, allowing time for a whole lot of villa tea to be spilled.

If you miss if you’ll be able to catch up with the episode via the ITV Hub.

As with the regular series the reunion show will be hosted by Maya Jama, with former islander Indiyah Polack and Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson also putting in an appearance.

The show will follow what the islanders have been up to since their time in the villa came to an end, and whether love is still in the air for those who emerged from the show in a couple.

All eyes may well be on Catherine Agbaje and Scott van der Sluis, who were coupled up in the villa before she got together with Elom Ahlijah-Wilson in Casa Amor.

Catherine and Elom have since split – and rumours of a possible reunion with Scott, who left the show in a friendship couple with Abi Moores, have been rife.

Addressing the speculation over a potential date, Scott said: ‘At the moment we get on as friends really well.

‘There’s nothing different to that at the moment. I don’t know about a date just yet. I was sort of over that situation in the villa.’

When does Love Island return?

As it stands, a winter series of the show has not been confirmed for 2024.

However, it has been rumoured that the main winter series could be replaced by an ‘all-stars’ edition of the show, with single former islanders invited back to take part.

‘The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren’t interested in watching the show twice a year,’ a source claimed.

They continued to MailOnline: ‘It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.’

The publication claims that the all-stars series will apparently be fimled in South Africa, with casting producers on the search for former stars of Love Island who are single to sign up.

In response to a request for comment from Metro.co.uk, ITV said: ‘Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024.’
