Jey Uso may have a huge advantage going into WWE SummerSlam after taking out Solo Sikoa at the end of SmackDown.

The former tag team champion is heading into Tribal Combat with his cousin Roman Reigns, with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line as well as Roman’s status as Tribal Chief.

On Friday night, there was plenty of hype for the massive match, and Jey built some serious momentum at the expense of his younger brother.

Midway through the show, Jey tried to win over Solo by pointing out how the Head of the Table is manipulating him the same way he tried to control The Usos.

Paul Heyman did try to play down the claims only to be stared down by the Enforcer, who soon got laid out by a huge Superkick.

Later in the night, the main event delivered as one final push for SummerSlam, with Jey getting a clean win over his sibling by using Roman’s signature Spear.

After the bell, he took out Solo with a steel chair, standing tall one night before a potential date with destiny against Roman at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

LA Knight gets huge ovation, Shotzi reveals new look and more

LA Knight was all over the first quarter of SmackDown, first coming out to another incredible ovation and promising to win the Slim Jim Battle Royale on Saturday night.

He kicked off the show with a statement win over veteran Sheamus, with Santos Escobar, Grayson Waller, The Miz, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, AJ Styles and Mia Yim watching from ringside.

The Battle Royal competitors ended up in a brawl, and after the focus returned to the ring, megastar Knight picked up a massive victory in a moment that will hopefully kickstart a huge second half of 2023.

The OC and the Brawling Brutes were having a good match when the action got interrupted by the new look Street Profits as Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins went on the attack.

The decorated tag team appeared out of nowhere in sharp suits, taking out the competition and joining forces with Bobby Lashley on the ramp.

United States Champion Theory built some momentum with a win over Cameron Grimes one week before he defends his gold against Escobar, who attacked him after the bell.

In a fun video package, Asuka was shown in an MMA dojo training for her WWE Women’s Title defense against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair, who had already been shown relaxing on a yatch earlier in the night.

Bianca was also shown in her own vignette as the EST of WWE prepared in the gym and promised to regain the gold.

The Grayson Waller Effect saw the loudmouth host joined by Damage CTRL’s Bayley and Iyo Sky, who weren’t happy when he pranked them by pretending Shotzi was coming for them.

After that, her signature tank appeared on the ramp, which turned out to be another twist as Shotzi appeared behind them in the ring with a brand new look after shaving her hair.

She tried to cut Bayley hair, while the mystery figure on the ramp turned out to be Zelina Vega, who then got a win over Iyo Sky after Bayley and Shotzi reappeared, brawling back onto the stage and down the ramp.

WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
