Taylor Swift fans have been fighting to get tickets to her Eras Tour but unfortunately, scammers have taken advantage of that gold rush.

While every celebrity under the sun enjoyed the Los Angeles Eras Tour gigs, one woman was left devastated as she lost $1,400 (£1090) on fake tickets.

Taylor has announced a second US leg of the Eras Tour but it’s too late for Stefanie Klein from California, who has already been the victim of scammers.

The mum had tried to get tickets through Ticketmaster originally but missed out in the chaos so turned to StubHub to make her daughter’s dreams come true.

She ended up spending almost a grand and a half on the chance to see the three-hour set, thinking she had secured two seats with a good view.

Unfortunately, Stefanie was later told by the reselling site that the tickets did not exist, losing her chance to see Taylor live and a huge sum of money.

StubHub and other resellers came under fire after tickets appeared before the UK pre-sale had even finished – often tripling their value.

To protect from scams, StubHub offers a guarantee which claims to give the customer a full refund plus 200% of the price paid in the US.

Ticketmaster and AXS also announced tickets were not eligible for resale outside of their approved avenues, leaving hopeful fans disappointed.

However, these restrictions on UK sales did not help the Californian mum, who said: ‘This Fan Protect Guarantee did not protect me’.

She told NBC: ‘I was given reason after reason, excuse after excuse after excuse. There’s nothing else I could get from customer service. I couldn’t keep calling.

‘It was actually giving me high blood pressure, I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t spend my precious time arguing and arguing over and over again.’

When questioned by NBC, StubHub shared that 80% of Eras Tour ticket sellers were first-time sellers, causing high numbers of order issues.

Sophie Miller from Booking Agent Info told Metro.co.uk fans should beware when purchasing from anywhere other than an official sale.

She added that vetting any potential seller is crucial and using verified routes rather than purchasing through social media, which has been rife with scammers.

Stephanie shared: ‘I have to tell my story because this has to happen to other people. It’s heartbreaking and infuriating. And buyer beware.’

Thankfully, the mum has now had her full refund of $4,300 (£3,370) and even managed to find other tickets so the pair will be attending the Eras Tour.

‘That’s the happy ending, is that she gets to go,’ she said.
