Jamie Foxx has revealed he is on the mend and almost back to normal after suffering a medical emergency that left him hospitalised.

The Oscar-winning actor received emergency treatment in April and spent several weeks in hospital due to a mystery illness.

He recently explained how he could have died if it weren’t for the fast actions of his sister who saved him.

Now weeks after returning to the spotlight, Jamie, 55, has shared a positive update about his health for his concerned fans.

Alongside photos of him pulling his best model poses while on holiday in a tropical location – and holding a pair of Crocs – the actor wrote: ‘You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light.’

No doubt referring to the legion of celebrity friends who publicly and privately sent well wishes, Jamie added: ‘I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant.’

‘I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day…,’ he concluded, adding the hashtags ‘#imbackandimbetter #nobaddays.’

Jamie received a flood of supportive messages with Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles commenting: ‘I along with the world pray for you regularly you are such a special man such a gift to the world of entertainment. God bless you love, mama Tina.’

Singer Tamar Braxton said: ‘Brother I know that feeling!!! It only gets better from here! Thank God.’

Hidden Figures actress Octavia Spencer chimed in: ‘Yes He is!!! Glad you’re better.’

Harlem star Meagan Good added: ‘Love you my Brother [prayer hands] God .. whew .. is.’

It comes not long after Jamie detailed how serious his health scare was, although he is yet to disclose what exactly caused the medical emergency.

In a birthday message to his sister Deidra Dixon, the Ray actor revealed: ‘Happy birthday to my beautiful for sister @frequency11 “D”… you are magical you are beautiful you are the courageous lionesses #leoseason.

‘And without you I would not be here… had you not made the decisions that you made I would’ve lost my life…. I love you forever and ever happy birthday sis.’

Upon his return to social media in July, the actor was forced to shut down the conspiracy theories about his mystery illness, including that he had been cloned during his time away from the public eye.

However, it’s not been an entirely smooth return as Jamie recently faced accusations of antisemitism after an Instagram post he shared about ‘fake friends’ and ‘fake love’, writing: ‘They killed this dude name Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?’

He later apologised while Friends actress Jennifer Aniston was dragged into the controversy when she reportedly ‘liked’ the post, which has since been deleted.
