Love Island presenter Maya Jama and ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand were spotted sitting amongst fans at an outdoor screening of the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday.

The stars were out in force to support the Lionesses who were busy tackling Spain in Sydney to be named World Cup winners – after a stellar tournament performance led by coach Sarina Wiegman.

Maya, 29, sat on a beanbag in the fans’ area sponsored by Mcdonald’s wearing a white tank top and dark flared jeans.

She covered her eyes with a pair of big black sunglasses and accessorised her outfit with gold necklaces and bangles.

The star let her long raven locks hang loose around her shoulders as she snacked on some of the brand’s famous fries.

Elsewhere, the outdoor screening was also attended by former England player Rio, 44, who stopped to snap pictures with fans.

The sportsman wore an oversized white t-shirt, some baggy black shorts and matching black sunglasses for the occasion.

Shaking hands with some of the younger fans in the area, Rio was also seen chatting to his phone and capturing his reaction to the game happening on the screen.

Earlier in the week, Rio offered the women some words of encouragement and praised them for their work thus far.

Appearing in a video posted to the Lionesses’ official Instagram page, the star was heard saying: ‘This is a moment man, this is history in the making.

‘You girls are close. I’ve had every faith in you, man. So please, make me cry. Make me cry. Let’s go.’

Luther actor Idris Elba, 50, took a seat in the fast food’s fan zone as he watched the Lionesses play with a furrowed brow.

Leaning against a yellow beanbag, Idris was dressed all in black and hide his face beneath a black cap and sunglasses.

He made a plethora of pained expressions as he watch the women fall behind Spain by one goal in the first half.

Other star-studded support on the day came from Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, 27, who showed her fans she was watching from home.

Alongside a picture of her television screen, the star penned a note that read: ‘Come on ladies’.
