Savvy shopper Lauryn Hartnell was left stunned when shopping in her local B&M, when she spotted a large selection of children’s pyjamas that flagged up as reduced when using the chain’s app.

Thrilled with her finds, Lauryn nabbed ten packs of the cheap pyjamas, from sizes 18-24 months, to three to four years.

Posting on social media, Lauryn took to Facebook to show off her huge haul.

Sharing a snap of her bargains on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private group with a staggering 2.3 million members, Lauryn said: “£2 pjs, B&M. Not marked up, checked on the app before buying.”

The savvy shopper later explained: “The app is the B&M app which has a barcode scanner to check prices in [the] shop as they don’t always mark stuff down.”

Lauryn managed to get her hands on a range of different boys’ pyjamas, including sets for football-mad kids, matching sets for those who are dinosaur obsessed and even pyjamas for those interested in space.

She got a selection of short and long sleeved sets, which were originally £4 and are perfect for the summer or for stocking up for the winter months.

The money-saver later noted: “I was planning on paying full price [but it] wasn’t until they scanned I noticed [the] price.”

At the time of writing, Lauryn had shared her post online just three hours prior, but it had clearly impressed many, as it had quickly amassed 515 likes and 397 comments.

However, social media users were left divided at the cheap finds – while some were stunned, others weren’t so keen.

One person said: “Need to get my app at the ready.”

Another added: “I’ll have to check my B&M when I get paid, my little lad needs some pjs!”

A third commented: “Could put away for Christmas.”

However, someone else claimed: “They wash badly and shrink.”

Whilst a second chimed in: “I agree. Wouldn’t buy [them] again, they’re a one time wear.”

A third agreed: “I agree, they shrink.”

To this, Lauryn later explained: “I’ve always brought these pyjamas and never had any issues with shrinking ect. I suppose it depends how you wash/dry your clothes.

“Even if they only last a month or so, still a bargain for £2.”

If you fancy getting a bargain such as this, you’ll need to download the B&M app before your next trip to the chain.

The scanner lets you see if the item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift, or they’re labelled “big brands” and “big savings”.

It’s a terrific hack to use, especially since the cost of living keeps rising and inflation might hit 15 per cent by the end of the year.

The scanner is completely free as well – you just need to download the B&M app.

Shoppers can download it on the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve got the app, click on the “scan” button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will then bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you’ll need to use to scan barcodes.
