Her experience in charity shops means she now has a strategy when she goes in to reduce time inside and means she can visit more shops in one day.

And it’s as simple as heading to the sections of the shop with clothing colours that you’d usually reach for.

Most charity shops categorise their clothes based on colour palettes, except for coats and shoes.

“When I go to a charity shop, there’s some sections I’ll always go to,” Lottie explained.

“I’ll always go to the green clothes, I’ll always go to the brown clothes and I’ll always go to the black clothes.

“I will also always go to the bric-a-brac.

“This speeds up my charity shop experience which means I can go to more charity shops and make sure I’m buying within my colour-ways so all my clothes go together.”

So, if you’re someone who prefers a brighter outfit, then you can head to the brighter sections of clothes.

Lottie shared her charity shop hack in a TikTok video and fellow fashion fans were seriously impressed.

“You have this down to a fine art,” one penned.

“I literally do the same sections, plus the blues,” another said.

In her recent visit, Lottie picked up a black rose top and some birthday cards – because “charity shop birthday cards always hit different”.

“I finally remembered to bring my Charity Shop Gift Card to buy this purchase,” she quipped.

The Charity Shop Gift Card is an initiative by the Charity Retail Association (CRA).

You can buy them online or in supermarkets and use them in a plethora of charity shops across the country.

“The CRA is proud to be supporting an initiative to offer a national charity shop gift card in the UK,” bosses said.

“The Charity Shop Gift Card will help to drive footfall into charity shops so they can access the huge (currently £6bn) and growing gift card market by offering a single gift card that can be redeemed at any participating charity shop.”
