The first trailer for Strictly Come Dancing 2023 has been released, and we could not be more ready.

This year’s series cast line-up is absolutely stellar, with the likes of Bobby Brazier, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams and Zara McDermott taking to the dance floor.

And if the trailer is anything to go by, viewers are set for a real treat.

The haunting trailer opens with Jowita Przystal and Vito Coppola dancing through the streets of the city at night, seemingly alone before a whole troupe of dancers bursts into view.

As a version of Rhythm is A Dancer begins playing, a close-up of the dancers doing jaw-dropping moves reveals the dancers as the other Strictly professionals.

Giovanni Pernice, Johannes Radebe, Dianne Buswell and Nancy Xu are among the professionals proving their talent as they move gracefully up the steps, with the trailer finishing with the stars in a gorgeous circular staircase.

And while we didn’t get a glimpse at our 2023 celebs – or learn who they’ll be paired with – it’s got us more than ready to sink our teeth into the new series.

Strictly star Amy Dowden does not appear to be in the trailer, however she recently confirmed she’d be returning to the series in some way, however small.

The pro dancer, 33, revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

She’s since undergone a single mastectomy and is now having chemotherapy after doctors sadly found more tumours, which has also forced her out of Strictly 2023.

However, earlier this week, Amy teased a return to the Strictly studios and she hopes to feature, whether it’s in a full dance routine, a video clip from home, or even on an episode of supplementary show It Takes Two.

It was later confirmed by a BBC spokesperson that she ‘wasn’t there to film the launch opener’ but she ‘will be in the series.’

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this month.
