John Cena has been announced as the host of WWE Payback this weekend.

The wrestling legend turned Hollywood superstar isn’t working on any big screen projects at the moment amid the ongoing actors strike, but he’s keeping busy after making his return on this week’s SmackDown.

At the start of Friday night’s show, the 16-time world champion kicked off the show and confirmed he will have a huge role to play on Saturday’s premium live event.

‘I just found this out right before I ran down here,’ he told the fans during a passionate speech. ‘You have given me the opportunity to host Payback tomorrow night!’
