I’m a money-saving mum – here are all the best last minute back to school uniform deals you need to know about

THE kids go back to school tomorrow – and many mums will be panicking trying to find last minute uniforms.

But fear not, many high street brands and supermarkets are currently offering amazing deals so kitting your kids out doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

School uniforms can be pricey – new research this year showed that school clothing can often cost anywhere from £100 to £400 upwards. 

Here, Mad About The Money mum blogger Maddy Alexander-Grout reveals the best deals available on school uniforms. 

GEORGE AT ASDA

AsdaGeorge at Asda currently has 10 per cent off on all school uniforms.[/caption]

George at Asda currently has 10 percent off on all school uniforms until Monday 11th September online. 

This will automatically be applied at checkout, delivery is from £3.50 or you can click and collect from your nearest store which is free. 

If you only want to shop in store you need to go to the Asda app and spend a minimum of £10 before Sunday 3rd September in order to qualify for the discount. 

Maddy says: “George at Asda is great value, with items starting from as little as £2.70 for polo shirts, its prices increase with age, so be careful when you first look at the item as it might be more expensive depending on what size you need.”

F&F AT TESCO

TescoF&F at Tesco is currently offering 3 for 2 across all Clubcard school uniforms.[/caption]

Until the 10th September F&F at Tesco is offering 3 for 2 across all Clubcard price school uniforms. 

This means you will need to have a Clubcard in order to access this deal. 

You can get your hands on a 3x pack of white polo shirts for £4 and a 2x pack of grey trousers for £8. 

F&F no longer sells on its own website, so this offer is in store only. 

Maddy says: “A three for two deal is a great way to bag an extra bargain on uniform and with prices starting from as little as £4 you can’t go wrong.”

LIDL

LidlHead down to Lidl to get hold of its £5 uniform deal.[/caption]

Lidl is known for its value for money when it comes to its school uniforms. 

It is currently offering a bundle for £5, you can get a sweatshirt, two polo shirts, a skirt or trousers all included. 

Size does not matter as the price does not waiver and the supermarket stocks sizes from ages 4-12. 

The retailer is also donating 50p to NSPCC’s Childline for sales on selected uniform items. 

Maddy says: “This deal started in July and is only on until stocks last so head down to your nearest store to check if they have what you need available.” 

ALDI

AldiAldi is offering a £5 bundle deal until stocks last.[/caption]

Similarly to Lidl it is also offering a £5 school uniform deal. 

For just £5, you can get your hands on a sweatshirt, two polo shirts, a skirt or trousers. 

You cannot look for this deal online so head to your local store to check for the uniform which is located in the supermarkets ‘special buys’ section. 

Maddy says: “Head down to your nearest Aldi now for one of the cheapest deals around, but hurry as although Aldi does replenish its special buys it’s only available until stocks last.”

JOHN LEWIS

John LewisJohn Lewis is currently offering 25% off uniforms online.[/caption]

John Lewis is currently offering 25% off its school uniforms online. 

This deal is set to last until Sunday 3rd September, with no voucher needed and the discount will automatically be applied at checkout. 

Delivery is £4.50 or free if you spend over £50 or if you spend over £30 you’re entitled to click and collect for free.

Maddy says: “Whilst John Lewis is a bit more expensive, they will still be great quality, plus the 25 percent off is a big saving meaning some pieces are as cheap as £4.50.

MATALAN

MatalanMatalan has a special £5 and under uniform section.[/caption]

On its website Matalan has a special section for school uniforms that is £5 and under. 

Featuring over 80 items you can get everything from trousers, polo shirts, PE Kits, skirts as well as accessories.

Look online as well as heading in store as Matalan’s delivery charge is £3.95 or you can click and collect for free. 

Maddy says: “Items start from as little as £1.50 so Matalan is definitely a place to head for a uniform that maybe not everybody knows about.”

TU AT SAINSBURY’S

Online the supermarket currently still has over 350 different uniform items for girls and over 170 for boys, so plenty to choose from. 

Stocking sizes from 2-16 click and collect is free for orders over £15 or delivery is from £3.95.

Or head into store where it currently has a selection of uniforms available. 

Maddy says: “I always get my kids uniform from Sainsbury’s. I think it’s really good quality for the price.”

CLARKS

Clarks ShoesGet 15 per cent off Clarks shoes when you sign up to the website.[/caption]

Whilst Clarks may be slighter on the pricier side for kids school shoes they are known to be great quality. 

If you subscribe to the Clarks website then you can automatically get 15% off. 

With shoes starting from the £40, Maddy also has discounted Clarks vouchers through her Mad About Money app for even more discount. 

Maddy says: “The only thing I spend a bit more money on is school shoes which I buy from Clarks. I think if you buy cheap shoes you can end up buying twice so its worth the investment.”
