My tailor ruined my dress seven days before the wedding – I looked five months pregnant and that wasn’t the worst part

A BRIDE has shared how she managed to save her wedding even after her tailor ruined her dress a week before the big day.

She said the dress made her look five months pregnant but that wasn’t even the worst part.

Jen (@jen.hartmann) shared the story with her TikTok followers.

She explained that the tailor had been highly recommended to her so she brought the dress to him months before her ceremony.

A week before the wedding, the tailor alerted her the dress was done but when she went in to try it on, she realized she couldn’t zip it up.

“I could zip it before I brought it in but I could no longer zip it,” she said.

It only got worse from there: “Problem number two: the ruching — I looked five months pregnant,” she said, showing off a photo of her trying the dress on.

“I did not look this way when I brought the dress in and no I was indeed not pregnant.”

She also noticed the straps on the dress were two different lengths, as well as missing sequins on her dress, and loose strings.

The tailor ended up not charging her but she was still short a dress.

Jen bought an alternative dress, which still did not fit her properly and she ended up taking the original dress to another seamstress.

Although the seamstress warned her that she may not be able to perform a miracle, the day before the ceremony, the call came in.

“It was like a Christmas miracle, it was a wedding miracle that they were able to fix the dress in time because there was so much wrong with it,” she said.

People took to the comments to share their collective anger against the tailor.

Many were furious at the first tailor: “Oh hell no..I would have sued that seamstress for the price of the dress plus more in small claims court. Would have absolutely not let that slide,” said one commenter.

Others were amazed she was able to go through with the ceremony: “Wedding would have been canceled. I couldn’t function under those conditions,” joked another.
