Yellowstone has been blasted as ‘delusional and deplorable’ by Native American actress Lily Gladstone.

The Killers of the Flower Moon star, 37, called out the Paramount Plus drama’s presentation of the American West.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, features Kevin Costner as John Dutton III, who is determined to protect his family’s cattle ranch.

The show centres on Dutton’s ranch and the tensions and conflicts that arise with its neighbours: an Indian reservation, the Yellowstone National Park and an expanding town.

When asked about the Western, which has been hit by claims of tension between Kevin, 68, and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, Lily had a two word response.

‘Delusional! Deplorable!’ The Last Manhunt star said to Vulture.

Lily continued: ‘No offense to the Native talent in that. I auditioned several times. That’s what we had.’

The criticism comes after it was confirmed Yellowstone is ending on its fifth season, while a new as yet untitled sequel has been ordered for a series.

Reports had previously claimed Kevin had quit the series amid speculation about issues between the actor and Taylor.

Kevin recently addressed leaving Yellowstone during a court hearing for his divorce proceedings with estranged wife Christine Baumgartner, implying he would take legal action.

When taking the stand, The Bodyguard actor revealed he had originally agreed to make seasons five, six and seven of the Western series and had negotiated a fee of $12m (£9.5 million) for each.

But when the fifth season was split into two, Costner rearranged his schedule to allow for filming the second half, even moving the filming of his movie Horizon to accommodate for it, which resulted in a $10 million ‘push fee’ that was absorbed by his movie’s budget.

However, by the time The Man of Steel star was ready to film Yellowstone again, scripts for the second half of the season hadn’t yet been completed.

He said in court that negotiations over season six also continued in February and again in May over money and ‘creative differences’, then claiming that Paramount eventually walked away after he asked for $12m to film that season.
