I have the perfect hack for cleaning my kids shoes – it only takes minutes and its like they’re brand new
A SAVVY mum has shared her perfect hack to get her kid’s shoes looking brand new and bright white – and it only takes minutes.
Eilidh Wells, from Glasgow, regularly shares her home hacks and fashion hauls on social media (@eilidhwells).

And in a recent TikTok video, she showed how she manages to get her kid’s shoes looking brand new – without putting them in the washing machine.
Eilidh used a mix of different products to brighten them up – bit insisted that it prevents them from being damaged long term.
But with a little elbow grease and a brush, it doesn’t long to see results.
She said: “So I’m using the oxyactive fabric stain remover and just putting it all over the top.
“I got this little pack of brushes from Amazon and it’s basically like a dishmatic but with a brush.
“So they’re absolutely perfect for cleaning shoes. I really like to avoid using the washing machine for trainers cause I feel like it really discolours them and they just end up ruined.
“So I’m giving them a really good scrub and this is sometimes enough just to get them freshened up.”
Moving on to her next trick, Eilidh pulls out the “big guns” and uses some carpet stain remover.
She adds: “I’m using the Doctor Beckman Carpet Stain Remover – I always use this for so much more than just carpets.
“It is so, so good at brightening up shoes and taking out stains.
“Last step is just to soak them in some hot water with some oxy stain remover and whitening booster.
“This always makes them look a lot brighter and I soak them for about ten minutes and then I put them out in the sun to dry.
“The sunlight really helps lift out any remaining stains but I am super happy with how this pair turned out.”
Recently we told how Eilidh put sizing in high stores to the test as she tried on mum jeans in each changing room – and there was a clear winner.
In an Instagram post, she carried out a “little experiment” comparing size 10 jeans in River Island, H&M, New Look, Zara and Next.
She said: “It’s crazy how sizes are so inconsistent between stores … and even between different styles in the same store.”
