Wrestling legend Sting has confirmed he will officially retire at AEW Revolution in 2024.

The former world champion made his name in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and spent 11 years in TNA Wrestling when he left to join WWE in 2014 for a brief spell.

He would later make his All Elite Wrestling debut in 2020, forming an alliance with Darby Allin and going onto enjoy a fantastic spell of his career almost four decades after his debut in 1985.

Now, he has announced plans to hang up his boots for good after his original 2015 retirement in WWE never sat right with him.

Although details for the upcoming edition of the pay-per-view event haven’t been officially announced yet, the show is typically held the first weekend in March.

Speaking on Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, he said: ‘My very first match with AEW was Revolution, 2021. And my very last match will be Revolution 2024.’

Fans chanted his name after telling him he’s ‘still got it’, but Sting insisted unlike many wrestling retirements, this one is definitive.

He added: ‘One more key thing that you guys all need to know. The only thing for sure about Sting… is my retirement, Revolution 2024, is for sure.’
