The anonymous Redditor u/Kpowower shared a mirror selfie in a wedding attire approval forum.
She asked fellow Redditors for their thoughts: “Is this appropriate?” she asked.
The woman tried on a silk black shirt, tied at the waist and a matching black skirt.
Although the outfit covered up her chest and arms, her tattoos peeked out from her chest and down her legs.
Some thought that the dress was cute but wasn’t long enough for the occasion: “Knee length for semi-formal. No thigh-high slits,” said one viewer.
Many felt that she should opt for something that covered up her tattoos a bit better.
“I’d say a longer dress would be more appropriate with this dress code – at least knee length or could also be a midi,” said one commenter.
“The material of this one is lovely though.”
Others agreed that the outfit wasn’t appropriate for the occasion: “Great outfit but not really appropriate. I would go with knee length and no cutouts,” said another.
Experts at WED2B, a bridal outlet, shared additional advice for those willing and looking to cover up their tattoos for occasions for wedding ceremonies.
They recommended experimenting with cosmetics to cover up ink on the body.
” Try using a cream concealer followed by a spray foundation cream. Then dust liberally with translucent powder, to give a matte finish, before fixing with a light spray of hairspray,” they said.
“Another option is to use stage make-up, although this can be quite greasy, or you can also buy stick-on, skin-colored patches.”
