The three remaining Little Mix members underwent therapy after being ‘traumatised’ by Jesy Nelson leaving the group and the ensuing drama.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards secretly sought therapy after their bandmate left abruptly in 2020.

Jesy left after struggling with her mental health, and later released controversial single Boyz in 2021, which reached number four in the UK charts.

While Leigh-Anne, Jade and Perrie no longer appear to have a relationship with Jesy, for almost a decade the group were inseparable, finding massive success after being formed on The X Factor.

Little Mix continued without Jesy, but last year announced a hiatus, with the members each beginning to carve out a solo career of their own.

Now Leigh-Anne is set to release new memoir Believe on October 26, with an excerpt seen by The Sun delving into her feelings following Jesy’s sudden departure from Little Mix.

She reportedly wrote that the drama that followed, which included an alleged feud between the remaining members and Jesy, at one point even Nicki Minaj getting involved, the remaining trio were left ‘traumatised’ and in need of counselling.

‘It was a complex and painful thing to come to terms with,’ she allegedly wrote.

She went on to admit she ‘wasn’t prepared for the intensity of those emotions,’ describing it as feeling like ‘a weird break up.’

‘The whole thing was abrupt and sad and then it was messy, which made it even more painful.’

When Jesy announced her exit from the group, she said: ‘The truth is recently being in the band has really token a toll on my mental health.

‘I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’
